How has a whole year passed since we were last serving the good stuff at Hatters Farm? We’re not entirely sure either.
Pumpkin season has become a firm favourite in the Truckhiato calendar. Every year, we return with fresh ideas about how to bring great coffee to the farm, keep everyone fuelled and make the experience even better than the last.
Our mobile coffee carts are a big part of what we do, but not every event needs the same setup. Sometimes it’s a compact coffee bar tucked into an existing space. Sometimes it’s a truck outside. This time, it meant building two serving points around a busy seasonal attraction.
For 2026, we went all in. Two temporary coffee shops, four espresso machines, a brilliant team and hot chocolates that were very much dressed for the occasion.
It was everything we enjoy about event coffee catering: taking a space, understanding what it needs and creating something that feels part of the event.
Two pop up coffee shops, built around the farm
This year, we left the coffee trucks in hibernation and created two coffee shops on site instead.
Our mobile coffee carts are a big part of what we do, but not every event needs the same setup. Sometimes it’s a compact coffee bar tucked into an existing space. Sometimes it’s a truck outside. This time, it meant building two serving points around a busy seasonal attraction.
Behind the counters were two La Marzocco two group machines, supported by two La Spaziale two group machines. Four machines in total, with plenty of coffee firepower to keep pumpkin pickers going.
The team grew with the crowds, from seven baristas and front of house staff on quieter days to thirteen when things got busy.
Different scale. Same priorities. Good coffee, a warm welcome and a queue that keeps moving.
Proper coffee, without missing the day Coffee at an event should be something to look forward to, not something you spend half your visit waiting for.
On our busier days at Hatters Farm, the average wait for a drink was around four minutes. Keeping that moving took more than espresso machines. It meant having the right people in the right places, a considered menu and a setup that allowed the team to work together.
For us, serving at volume should still feel like hospitality. Whether you’re ordering the first flat white of the morning or collecting hot chocolates for the whole family, the welcome matters as much as what’s in the cup.
More time among the pumpkins. Less time in the coffee queue.
The hot chocolate that understood the assignment
Coffee might be our first love, but October had another drink in mind.
Social feeds were full of hot chocolates piled high with cream and finished with little edible pumpkins. Naturally, we got involved.
Our seasonal hot chocolates brought a little theatre to the counter, with generous cream, a dusting on top and a pumpkin garnish to finish. And for those taking pumpkin season particularly seriously, we also served drinks inside actual pumpkins.
Subtle? Not especially. Right for the occasion? Absolutely.
This is the part of bespoke event catering we love. A menu doesn’t have to stop at the usual drinks list. It can take its lead from the setting, the season and the people coming along.
At Hatters Farm, that meant pumpkins. For another event, the starting point could be something completely different.
Coffee carts, bespoke menus and events with a bit of character
Hatters Farm is a good example of how we like to work: start with the event, then build the coffee offering around it.
We’re keen to bring that same approach to more unusual spaces, creative collaborations and events where the drinks can become part of the experience.
Think a mobile coffee cart at a product launch, a coffee bar bringing people together at a brand activation, or a seasonal drinks menu created for a weekend that deserves something different.
Our coffee carts, pop ups and trucks give us different ways to approach a brief. The conversation starts with your space, your guests and what you want the day to feel like.
A huge thank you to everyone who worked with us this season. For the energy, the costumes and the care that went into keeping both coffee shops running.
And to everyone who stopped by, thank you for making us part of your day. Whether it was an essential morning coffee or a hot chocolate before heading home, we loved serving you.
Thank you to Hatters Farm for having us back for another pumpkin season.
Planning an event? Let’s make the coffee part of it.
We’re looking for more opportunities to bring Truckhiato to interesting places.
If you’re planning a brand activation, product launch, private celebration or seasonal event, get in touch to discuss coffee cart hire and bespoke event coffee catering.
Tell us your date, location, approximate guest numbers and what you have in mind. Whether you’ve got a detailed brief or the beginnings of an idea, that’s a good place to start.
First, though, a well earned breather.
We’re also looking ahead to a fixed home for our big blue truck, OBH. If you know a space that could use good coffee and a little Truckhiato character, we’re all ears.
